Hydrofoiling is Being Brought to the Masses with the Artemis EF-24 Ferry!

Updated: Jun 11

Introducing the Artemis Technologies EF-24 Hydrofoil Ferry

Say goodbye to emissions and hello to the future of transportation with the Artemis Technologies EF-24 Passenger Ferry. The EF-24 Passenger Ferry is a 100% electric flying ferry that uses hydrofoil technology to raise itself out of the water and navigate above the waves. With a maximum speed of 38 knots or about 44 miles per hour, the EF-24 Passenger Ferry is a fast, efficient, cheaper, and environmentally friendly way to travel.

Hydrofoiling has recently seen quite a boon due to the many benefits of this means of travel. I wrote about cities like Venice extending the welcome mat to companies like Candela to cut down on wake damage.

The Benefits of the Artemis EF-24 Passenger Hydrofoil Ferry The EF-24 Passenger Ferry not only cuts down on wake damage but is also emission-free. Adding to this is the fact it is also quiet, making it ideal for use in populated areas. The hydrofoil design also makes for a smoother ride than traditional ferry boats. In addition, the EF-24 Passenger Ferry can transport up to 150 passengers at a time, making it a perfect choice for mass transit. The current estimated range at a cruising speed of 25 knots is 115 nautical miles (132 miles) on a full battery charge.

So, when will we see these out on the open water? Artemis has plans to launch the first EF-24 Passenger ferry in 2024. They expect it to be operated by Condor Ferries, servicing a route between Belfast and Bangor in Northern Ireland.

The Future of Transportation The Artemis Technologies EF-24 Passenger Ferry is part of a more significant trend towards electric and autonomous vehicles. As battery technology continues to improve, we expect to see more electric vehicles on the roads, waterways, and even in the skies. With zero emissions and a smaller environmental footprint than traditional gasoline or diesel-powered vehicles, electric vehicles are poised to revolutionize transportation as we know it.

Conclusion: The Artemis Technologies EF-24 Passenger Ferry is leading the way in zero-emission transportation. With its hydrofoil design, quiet operation, and fast top speed, the EF-24 Passenger Ferry is setting a new standard for high-speed ferry boats. As battery technology continues to improve, we can only expect electric vehicles like the EF-24 Passenger Ferry to become more prevalent in the years to come.
