The Clip 4 is JBL's Most Portable Bluetooth Speaker Yet!

I recently purchased the JBL's Clip 4 Bluetooth speaker for one reason alone: portability. I had no doubt the sound would be sufficient, given all of my other JBL speakers have sounded great. The fact this little speaker had a small clip/carabiner and could be attached to just about anything had me sold from the get-go. In this review, I’ll review what I like and don’t like about this speaker and whether I think it’s worth the price.
What I Like So far, I’ve been pleased with the JBL's Clip 4 Bluetooth Speaker. It sounds great for such a small speaker, and the battery life is incredible. I’ve been able to get up to 12 hours of Continuous playback at 50% volume, which is more than enough for me. Another plus is that it charges relatively quickly, at around 2.5 hours.
The design is also really sleek and modern looking. It’s available in several colors, so you can find one that fits your style. I went with my typical go-to, which is gray and black:
And as I mentioned before, the fact that it has a clip makes it incredibly portable. I can take it with me wherever I go without worrying about it taking up too much space or being too heavy to carry around. You can clip this onto a belt loop, chair, or in this case, my backpack.
I have always been a proponent of the speakers from JBL, having bought several of them over time. I find each of them serves a different purpose. One of my latest purchases you can read about here:
What I Don’t Like One downside of JBL's Clip 4 Bluetooth Speaker is it lacks the bass I have become accustomed to with the Flip 5, but beggars can’t be choosy. This is not to say it has no bass, just not the amount on more prominent speakers (of course). Again, I have to remind myself I bought the Clip 4 strictly for the portability factor.
Another downside is the inability to daisy chain this speaker with the rest of my JBL line-up. There is no Partyboost or Connect+ mode on the Clip 4, and JBL clearly intended this to be a stand-alone speaker.
Also missing from JBL"s Clip 4 Bluetooth speaker is the option of connecting a wired source for lossless audio. This was a little disappointing but certainly not a deal-breaker. I plan on streaming 100% of the time, anyway! You will be happy with the inclusion of a USB-C cable for charging.
Conclusion: Overall, I’m thrilled with my purchase of JBL's Clip 4 Bluetooth speaker. It sounds great, looks good, and is affordable at $59.99. While there are a few downsides, namely the lack of punchy bass, I think the pros outweigh the cons for this particular product.
