Where Do You Get Your Inspiration to Write?

Updated: Feb 26, 2022

It’s a Simple Question.

Where do I get my inspiration, ideas, and topics to write about? I would think it is different for anybody, but quite simply for me, it is people.

Whenever I am in a conversation, I hear the following words echo within my head, “Nobody ever learned anything by talking.” The meaning behind this is to be in the moment and listen to the people around you. This is not to say you can’t contribute to the conversation but rather do not monopolize it. Some of the most fantastic storytelling can come from the people around you.

Successful comedians seem to echo the same response. They receive inspiration from the people around them. Some of their best material is from daily interaction with other people.
