My Music Taste is All Over the Board
Ok, if the title did not give it away, I like the singer Adele. I am not in love with Adele, but I do love her voice and her music. She is one of the few artists I know who can evoke a range of feelings within me just by uttering a few lines of a song. I dare you not to get a little bit choked up when listening to her theme from James Bond’s Skyfall. I still consider this song one of the best Bond songs ever. I can’t tell you how thrilled I am to know we are just weeks away from getting a new release from her.
I know some friends will read this article and give me a ribbing, but my musical taste is all over the board and always has been. The list is extensive, and yes, Coldplay is on the list. So is Metallica, Chicago, Sinatra, Shania, Allison Krauss, Pearl Jam, U2, Sara Bareilles, Cream, Fleetwood Mac, Ed Sheeran, etc. You don’t want to be in the car with me as I get sucked into a musical wormhole, and away we go (ask my wife).
So Adele is getting ready to release her latest album, and judging by her latest single, Easy on Me, it will be a rousing success. I won’t be surprised as I am sure she has a lot to say and emote in her music after having gone through a divorce. Such is the case with tragic life events; the singer can channel their pain into hit-making music. Never was this more apparent than in Jagged Little Pill by Alanis Morrisette. So, Adele, I missed you, as did a billion other people on this planet. We are looking forward to seeing you again in concert and please do not disappear for so long next time.
