I Made a Costly Mistake on “Medium”

Updated: Feb 26, 2022

It Needed to be Fixed!

I made a mistake, actually quite a few, with regards to the formatting of my articles. The costly portion had to do with fixing every article I had published, closing in on 80 so far. It was extremely time-consuming, and my hands were hurting. They were simple formatting issues, but I blame Medium for the problem.

All of my articles had a nice-sized title and small subtitle, as expected. Unfortunately, I did not use the small t in the formatting bar whenever I typed the subtitle.

I have to give a shout-out to Zulie Rane and her Youtube Video calling out proper formatting. While I knew most of this, I assumed the subtitle was already a subtitle in a smaller font. Thinking out loud, I believe they should make this a default setting.

In any case, I went back and properly formatted the subtitle in all of my articles. I am uncertain how this affects the piece overall, but it was apparent this was the correct way to do it when my name appeared below the subtitle. Again, one other pointer from her articles I deemed essential. I have taken it as a personal mission to make sure all of my pictures have ALT TEXT filled out. It is about time I acknowledge those people with visual impairments. I apologize for my oversight. I will not make this mistake again.

Thanks again to Zulie Rane for her help.
