I Love My 2021 14" Macbook Pro….but!

Great job, Apple! You made a laptop that is worthy of being called a “Pro.” The unit is responsive, lightning-fast, and the battery exceeded my expectations. I have just one negative takeaway from the 2021 14 inch model.

My earlier article, “It Was Time to Upgrade My Macbook Pro,” talked about my need to take the plunge and replace my 2014 model. It was most certainly was an upgrade, but I downgraded on the size of the screen. At the time, I had thought it not to be a big deal losing 1 inch of the screen from my 15″. After about a week with the 14-inch model, my eyes told me otherwise. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the unit’s portability. It was effortless to transport, and it was markedly better than the 2014 unit I was replacing.

I found myself struggling, and at times squinting when reading something on the unit. I had made up my mind if a 16-inch Macbook was available, I was going to purchase it. As luck would have it, one was ready to be delivered within a 2-day time frame. I was also able to save $100 off the list, and there was no looking back.

The jump from 14 inches to 16 inches is very noticeable, and I am glad the larger screen was available. While the smaller screens work well for an iPad or iPhone, I will not opt for a smaller screen in the future. For me, the bigger screen is better!
